I am currently in love with this playful rug by Samuel Accoceberry for Chevalier. How nicely would this play in a child's room?!?

Sometimes I get real giddy when I see beautifully fun minimal design. I believe the Serpent Modular Shelving from Bashko Trybek hits that spot.

for all you guys! I know my posts have been really few and far between. Life, family and work have taken my full attention these days. One project that I am in the final stages of, is for 2 brothers and their individual bedrooms. I'm going to share a sneak peak of J's room. The pics are a bit rough but you'll get the idea. He's part time rock star, part time basketball player and full time energy. I wanted to make a space that could adapt to his particular interests. This custom unit features a high-loft that you can turn into a lounge area or bed. Below can serve as a bed as well that is on casters in case he wants to move the bed position. Or, if he kept his bed up top, the platform turns into a giant play table. There is also a sliding hanging guitar panel to keep them safe and sound when not in use. He has tons of built-in storage and lighting through-out! Did I mention the basketball court as well?? I'll share some pics from G's room soon! Cheers -jenn

Last summer I was approached, by the fine people at Appaman, to come up with the Retail Concept that could translate into a brick and mortar, a section inside a department store or stand alone kiosk. The direction was to create a balance of Scandinavian design mixed with a hint of vintage, a dash of modern and a nod to NYC street style. I am very happy to announce that Appaman HK just opened it's doors in Central Hong Kong! Below is where the project started and then to it's grand opening only weeks ago! More images HERE.
THIS stacking chair throne from Laurens Van Wierigen is kinda rocking my world right now.

Casaurus was built by student designer Koichiro Hoshino and I think it's genius! He created this dinosaur-themed bookshelf/playground for his senior thesis. I want one of these in my house! More images HERE.

Wow. This is a stellar example of maximizing space with a hugh dash of well-considered design. The challenge was to turn a 2 bedroom apartment into a comfortable and functional space for a family with 4 kids! Bravo MihaDesign Studio! (via BB) Photos : Sadao Hotta

Ive been working with some clients as of late, where toy storage has been high on the to-tackle list. Here are two gems that I wanted to pass along! One is the Kartel Componibili Laundry Basket. Yes, a clothes hamper turned into a dope tabletop with a pull-out storage bin! The second is THIS felt bin from Muuto. Oh la la!

Recycled from gym floorboards and made from sustainable / eco-friendly materials, i'd say that Soren Rose designed some pretty stellar pieces! These could play very well in the modern child's bedroom, playspace or family room!

I've been busy as of late so my apologies for slow posts. Ive been working on some amazing projects. Some I can't share just yet, some i've yet to photograph, and some still in the works! In the mean time, I thought I'd share a few sneak peaks of a residential project out in Los Angeles. This is a custom bookcase/storage unit I designed along with the customized indoor play structure from CedarWorks. Take note of one really important feature in this space - the puzzle soft-tile wood grain flooring! More coming soon......

San Francisco based designers Gitane Royce and Nisreen Witt are the genius minds behind Modern Playhouse. They set out to design and produce a simple and modern outdoor playhouse that is not too insanely priced. They currently have two models available and also offer furniture and accessories to outfit your playhouse. You had me at sophisticated, sustainable and safe!
When Tina sent me this link, I literally stopped everything I was doing.

There is something very beautiful about the lines and look of the Tribeca Cot ..... although I am not feeling the legs. And perhaps it's just me but it looks like the marriage of OFFI's Nest crib and the OEUF Classic.

Not too long ago, I admitted that I had fallen in love with a treehouse. Well, this morning my love grew a bit deeper for THIS outdoor-cross stream-awesome-sanctuary-in-the woods-shelter. It makes me want to move to a place that has a stream in the back yard...... if only to re-create something like this.

A house within a house, a room within a room. Dave Keune designed this crib/changing station/dresser combo called Nina's House to solve the problem of making room for baby without having to renovate or move into a bigger place. Job well done! (thanks massi)

The One to Four Table by Leon Fitzpatrick was designed as low lounge table with seating. Not only is it beautiful, comes flatpacked and well designed .... it would make for one dope children's table. It would be great if that hole in the middle was a lid to a little bin underneath.

I really like the colors in these rooms from Laurette. (the furniture is pretty great too ... and yes, its the same staged room for both pics but the surrounding colors make it really two different spaces)
